Will this be an added cost?
Downloading the OTG Creator app and using it does not cost anything additional. However, the system connects to your Square account, which does incur costs separately. If you already have a Square account, nothing changes. If you are new to Square, here is some useful information regarding cost.
To use the Creator App at its full capacity, we are requiring the use of a tablet (Android or iOS).
Will I need to buy the app?
No, the Creator app is free for all Off the Grid Creators.
Do I need new hardware or point of sale items?
You should not, but please review all information here to confirm.
Do I have to pay a monthly fee?
No monthly fees are associated with the Off the Grid Creator Application.
What does switching from my current POS to Square look like?
You will not be required to do a complete transition for your entire operations. Square will only be used to run the Creator App POS feature during Off the Grid Markets and Catering Events.
How will this impact my business at Off the Grid?
You will need a Square account to participate in Off the Grid Market and Catering events (and will then need to link it to your Off The Grid Creator Application). Please make sure you watch all our training videos about how to use it.
Will Off the Grid have full access to my Square account?
Absolutely not! We understand that business outside of Off the Grid is private. This is why we will only have permission to integrate reporting from our own events, which will help us provide you with better insights about guests who visit Off the Grid Markets and how you can continue to grow your business within the Off the Grid Ecosystem.
Are you recommending to start a whole new Square account specific to OTG?
No. If you currently have Square as your POS provider, you will be able to connect with your own account into the Creator App. Please review the video training dedicated to Square account linkage.

Will the app work together with the Square ticket paper system?
Currently, our integration with Square does not allow for printing options. However, you could use a second tablet and connect it to your OTG Creator account. From there you could have access to our “Orders” feature which could be used as a kitchen display system to follow in live all the upcoming orders.
What type of reporting can I expect?

Do I have to make the switch to Square if I want these features?
Yes. Off the Grid will require all creators to have a square account in order to participate in any of our events. What if I cannot afford new hardware?
